SILVER ONE TALES - HOMECOMING ~ THE GODPUPPERS' FINAL CHAPTER
Cinnamon
Papa Blue lay beside the reflecting pond – lost
in his thoughts. Those who knew him knew he was worried
and very sad – and was avoiding the clear waters of the
pond. Near by Rose and Angel huddled sadly together, Rosco
lay away from the others with a determined set in his small jaw,
Hoppy and Good Girl sat at sad attention, and little Mini
ran from one to the next seeking comfort. Mini was so
distracted he did not see the others enter and ran right
into Skeeter falling unceremoniously in front of the Silver
One. Skeeter looked over her younger brother and her nieces
and nephews then looked back at the Silver One. “Is there
nothing we can do?” she asked. At the sound of her voice
Blue looked up, daring a small bit of hope. But the Silver
One could only shake his head sadly. “Events have been set
in motion – it will unfold as it is written.” Blue’s eyes
flashed briefly with unfamiliar anger, “it will be as it
will – but why this way? My Cinny deserves better – to be
allowed to go in loving arms with her name, my babies deserve
at least that much!!!” He dropped and shut his eyes against
the pain, nothing left to him but pain and overwhelming
sadness. “They are only babies, even Cinny,” he said softly.
The Silver One moved closer to Blue and the pups gathered
around him.

“Sadly, some people do not know, do not understand.
If Your Momma and Grandmomma knew they would intercede, but
they do not – will not in time.” Blue lifted his eyes, too
distressed to lift even his head, “So they will not lie with
us even,” he whispered with deep resignation. The Silver One
lay down next to Blue, “That is but an earthly garment they
have shed, they will be here soon – with you forever.”
Scooby Little Girl
As if his words had been a cue – 11 radiant beings
seemed to come from nowhere. Blue looked to the Silver One
puzzled. “When the arms of love cannot be with one as they
pass from there to here, an angel holds them in their arms.
You were so sick when you left – your Momma could not be there
– did not know. Even the earth angel who cared so lovingly
for you at the healer’s place had to be away from you at that
moment. You thought you remembered your Momma’s arms – but that
was an angel bringing your Momma’s love to you. Your babies
and sweet Cinny will be held in loving arms – will hear their
names whispered softly with love.” The Silver One laid his chin
across Blue’s shoulders to comfort him, “They will be here soon.
Your Momma and Grandmomma will not know right away, when they
find out they will need your comfort.” “How can these people
do this? Do they not care?” Blue asked – his words barely a
whisper. “They care very deeply,” the Silver One replied,
“They try and then they do what they must rather that allow any
to suffer in tiny cages feeling unwanted. They help as many as
they can, they were not able to find others to give them good
homes and did not know to tell your Momma and Grandmomma.”
Blue closed his eyes tight and huddled – miserable.
Tom-Tom Lexis
At length he spoke again, “I have been watching, they
have not been treated badly. But they are so frightened – and
my Cinny seems to know that it is almost over. How can I
comfort her – ease her fear? Why can I not go to her so it will
be easier?” He raised his head and looked at his pups, “Am
I terrible for not looking now?” “No, you did what you could,”
the Silver One answered. “But look now if you can and it may
ease your pain.” With those words he gently nudged Blue,
“I will stand by you, but look - please,” he said gently.
Jasmine Blossom
Blue struggled to his feet and moved slowly to the
pond’s edge – the puppies followed closely, but held back with
the Silver One allowing their Papa time alone 1st. Blue looked
back with an amazed look on his face. The fear he had seen
in his Cinny and babies eyes was gone – replaced by peace.
Unseen to the humans there, each was held in the arms of an
angel who showered them with Momma and Grandmomma’s love. An
eleventh angel held a gentle arm around the human who’s heart
seemed near breaking as he tried to give each some small measure
of love to comfort them. Slowly the puppies eased forward with
Skeeter to gaze into the pure clear waters. As Blue watched,
his Cinny and each of his precious puppies gave a deep sigh
then went limp. But to his amazement the angels each seemed
to release the small body they held yet they still held
them – each snuggled sleepily into the arms of their angel,
unaware. As he watched each was suddenly no longer there,
and when he looked up he saw each appear near the pond and
lay their precious bundle down to wake in paradise.
Cinnamon Good Boy
Blue and the puppies with him watched in quiet
amazement for a moment, slowly, one by one, Cinnamon and
the 9 puppies began to stir. The Silver One gently nudged
Blue, “Come on, they are waking and will be a bit confused.
The 9 of us will be their guides to their new home.”
Blue looked to Cinnamon and his 9 babies, he looked back
at the 6 puppies with him, at Skeeter, and the Silver One.
“Do they know, understand?” he asked. “Did you?” the Silver One
replied. “Come, let us greet them. In short time your Momma
and Grandmomma will find out. When that day comes they will
need you too, need your comfort.” As they walked toward
Cinnamon and the puppies the rainbow glowing across the sky
seemed to grow brighter. He who holds the wind smiled as he
watched the Silver One, “Yes, soon they will know, and you
are right – many hearts will break, will need comfort. But
you know well what to do and will be there to help them. For
now – care for these precious ones.”
