So elegant and graceful, a stunning papillon.
He’ll be in pain and shock and truly baffled by his fate,
Take him to his father’s side, don’t leave him at the gate.

If you will show him to the bridge, his dad will guide him then,
Right now he won’t know where he is, the who or what or when,
Snatched so fast from fragile life, he didn’t want to die,
And oh, how hard to let him go, and we were left to cry.

We part with him in sorrow, the worst his mam has ever known,
Send out the pack to lead him back, for he was only four,
Repair his body, grant him peace, let his suffering be no more.

My Best Beloved Tuppence will protect his beautiful boy,
And although he won’t expect him, together grant them joy.
Let them run and play in soft green grass and snuggle up in sleep,
They gave us so much love in life, give their spirits peace so deep.

He’s an innocent soul who’s arrived here too soon,

My friends will laugh gently, and nod welcome to you,
They’ll try to make you feel right at home,
I’ve not been here long myself, Brodie, you know,
But already I know I belong.

I promise , my son, you’ll soon feel that way too,
And you know that I won’t let you down.
Jamie, Breagh and you whom I’ve watched growing up
Are the bright precious jewels in my crown.

I know life had just got so much better for you,
And you were enjoying your days.
It’s not fair you were snatched away right in your prime,
God works in mysterious ways.

i wasn't ready to leave my home either you know.
but the choice isn't ours to make.
so we'll both stick together and all will be well
in this heaven above rainbow lake.

We can visit our Mams now and then if you like,
And sometimes they’ll feel we are there.
Cos often they’re sad and crying all night
We can give them some comforting care.

We can see how the the family are all getting on,
Maybe give them a hand now and then,
Look, Jamie’s asleep on my pillow tonight,
And Jakie’s scampering madly again.

When we know they are hurting and missing us so.
If we close our eyes tightly and wish,
They’ll feel our butterfly ears just brushing their cheeks
And know we’re sending a sweet loving kiss.

Death isn’t the end of our journey, you know,
And my son, you know I don’t lie.
Here is heaven for all animals we’ve ever known.
And we’ll meet our own family bye and bye.
