HEAR THE RUMBLE OF THE THUNDER, SEE THE LIGHTNING IN THE SKY,
THE GENTLE RAINS THAT SPEAK OF THINGS, UN-MENTIONED.
THE FLAMES OF THE FIRE, THAT I DO TEND,
AS I SIT HERE AND LISTEN TO, WHISPERS ON THE WIND.
I OFTEN THINK ABOUT YOU, AND THINGS THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN.
I SEEM TO HEAR YOU CALLING ME, THROUGH WHISPERS ON THE WIND.
I WATCH THE BLUE RIVER, DISAPPEAR AROUND THE BEND.
THE WATER SEEMS TO SING TO ME, BUT IT'S THE WHISPERING OF THE WIND.
IN THE SKY, ABOVE THE CLOUDS, THE MOON DOES BRIGHTLY GLOW.
IT SENDS A THOUGHT ON RAYS OF GOLD, TO GENTLY TOUCH MY SOUL.
AS THE MESSAGE REACHES OUT TO ME, I FEEL THE BREEZE AGAIN.
THE SECRET THOUGHT I SEEM TO HEAR, MUST BE THE WHISPERING OF THE WIND.
STANDING HERE ALL ALONE, BY THE RIVER AT THE BEND,
I LONG TO HEAR JUST ONE MORE TIME, THOSE WHISPERS ON THE WIND.
IF ONLY JUST, ONE MORE TIME, WHISPERS ON THE WIND.

The Little One looked to the Guardian with eyes filled with sadness. She knew task and the journey that she must make, and understood that she may not understand why but that it was as it should be. The Guardian felt her pain as they had felt it so many times before and knew it would soon be mixed with the pain of others, "It is how it is meant to unfold Little One. She will not remember the brief pain or even the dark stillness when she awakens. She will need you to help her understand, she will be confused as all are at first."
The Little One looked into the distance, at nothing in particular, "She will be okay, but what of those who love her, will miss her - and those who love them and will worry for them? This will not seem to make sense to anyone left, and I have no voice to help them or to help her explain to them." Soft tears slid slowly down her silken cheeks. "How do I ease their pain when it is added to mine also?"
The Guardian brushed her cheek gently and she felt their love and compassion wash over her bruised soul. "You were chosen long ago to help with these tasks, given the very special gift of being able to feel their feelings. They cannot be helped by those who cannot feel their pain or understand where their heart is. It can be a painful gift in times like these, but also beautiful. And it can be a joy when you can share their happiness."
The Little One looked at the Guardian, "Is it already time? Must it be so soon? She will be so missed by many - but for him, she is his world." She knew that this tale was already penned, the ink on the lines set, still, she could wish.
The Little One knew she would be unseen until after her charge had started her journey, still she wanted to be there for her to be ready to help her.
The lady looked about confused, she had been at home with her love then it got a bit blurry, and this Little One holding her hand seemed at once so very familiar and still one she had never before seen. The Little One was very lovely, and there was around her an air of calm and love. And this was not home, but the most lovely place she could imagine. "Please, where am I? My husband will be worried that I left without a word - he will wonder where I have gotten off to." The Little One smiled sadly at her words and she wondered at her sadness. The Little One spoke and her voice reminded her of silver bells, "He knows where you are Dear One. What do you recall last?"
The question surprised her, and she became aware that some time had passed, but was unsure how much. "I was home and he was on the computer, how long ago was that?"
The Little One smiled a soft smile that let her know she could trust her, "Just a bit less than a day of his time, but time here will be very different." Now she wondered at the Little One's words. Time here was different? isn't time just that, time? And here? But where was "here"? Now the Little One looked sadly amused, "You will understand, allow yourself time."
As if on cue the Dear One heard sounds and voices, some she knew very well and others that she knew even though they had not met. Some seemed to be shocked and wondered at some event, others were in great pain - and over and over she heard her name. Then above all the others she heard him crying, a soft deep painful crying. She looked at the Little One, concerned for those she loved, especially him.
The Little One took her hand and looked at her with eyes filled with compassion and love, "We share a crystal reflecting pond here, shall I show you?" Now her mind raced, she had heard tales about a special pond, a crystal reflecting pond .... but it was there, did that mean she was there? Had she somehow journeyed there? "You have left that world Dear One, yes. But you will always be able to be there for those you love, just in a different form now. And because you loved enough to trust, he has others around him to help you watch over him. He is in pain, but because of your love he is not alone." She realized she was at the edge of a lovely pond, but was afraid to look into it's waters, afraid all she would see would be her own reflection. She needed to see him and could not bear the thought of being disappointed. The Little One smiled at her, "Look, you will see what you desire. And with practice you will be able to reach him and offer him comfort. That reach may look like a special butterfly or wildflower that he did not expect to see where he sees it, or a feeling speaking to his bruised heart, or a touch when he knows nothing is near to touch him. He will know Dear One."
The Dear One looked into the crystal waters and saw him and heard is crying. She felt his feeling of being lost and alone. Then she reached out through the perfect waters and gently laid her hand over his weary heart sending soothing warmth and peace. As she watched over him she whispered quietly to his heart, "Know I will always love you and be with you. I will always watch over you and all you love. And when you need me look no farther than in your heart, because that is the place I have always felt safest."
Linda felt a cold wet nose brush against her cheek. She opened her eyes and looked
into the bluest eyes. These eyes belonged to a beloved one she had not seem for many moons.
Her dearest ShiShi had journeyed on ahead to the Bridge Nov. 18th 2003. "Come on Momma wake up." Linda was not sure weather to hug her girl close or ask when Shi Shi learned to talk.
"Momma many are waiting to greet you, I am supposed to bring you to them and the reflecting
pond" Linda heard the words reflecting pond and a memory of the center of her heart telling her
about the pond at Rainbow Bridge. As She followed her Shi Shi Linda started to see around her.
Everything was so very green and bright with all the colours of the rainbow. There were animals
of all kinds everywhere. Many stopped to bow to her as he passed. Shi Shi watched her Momma and
knew what she was thinking. "Momma they know your kind heart and are showing you respect."
Where am I Linda wondered, this is an amazing dream. Don should be calling me soon to wake up.
They had been walking past a garden filled with morning glory. The bright blue blooms parted
and a large white wolf walked towards them. "Pooky is that you?" Linda whispered in surprise.
"It is me Momma, I came to help my sister greet you and explain where you are. But first
there are others here to welcome you. Before Linda knew it she was surround by love.
Surrounding her were Chancey, Gypsy even Grizzy was there snorting his joy to see his Momma.
Then behind the ring of her angels Linda saw other animals gathered there. Pooky came up
to his Momma, he was followed by two orange kitties and two tiny regal white and silver kitties.
Momma this is Muffin, Fluffy and the two Littlebits they along with the others you see here are
the Bridge babies of all the caring hearts that are reaching out to Papa. They are here to reach
out to you here.
Linda realized it wasn't a dream that she had indeed journeyed on ahead of her soulmte. Her
first thought was of Don. Pooky your Papa his poor heart he must be in pain and shock.
I can hear him now calling for me his Baby Girl.
"Follow us Momma" Pooky guided her to beautiful pond covered by a rainbow canopy.
"Momma look into the waters and think of Papa. As Linda's heart swelled with love and thoughts of her mate she saw him resting in his room hugging her pillow. She saw one silver tear on his
left cheek and knew he was dreaming of her. "Can I touch him?" she asked Pooky. Yes Momma you can. Linda reached forward and gently touched her mate's shoulder. She watched as he sat up
looking around. He placed his hand where her's had been and knew she was near.
Heart of my heart, love of my love I am always near. I will never be far. Pooky and Shi Shi sat
on either side of their Momma as she watched over her love. I am just around the corner where your heart dwells.
