Muffin felt the warm sun on her nose, she sighed
with pleasure as she snuggled deeper into her blanket.
Reaching out for her Mummy's frosty mug of cold water
for a nice cool drink. But instead of the the mug
her paw felt another paw. Opening one eye
she peeked, seeing a furry orange cat's paw.
Looking higher she saw it was attached to
a big fluffy orange cat. He had his head cocked
to one side and was looking at her out of
the most beautiful spring green eyes.
Muffin asked the orange cat "Are you a
new friend that my Mum brought home for me?"
The orange kitty introduced himself
"My name like yours is Muffin but
you can call me Muff. That was one
of the nick names my Mum has for me.
You aren't home Muffin you have journeyed
ahead of your paw parents to Rainbow Bridge.
One day they will follow. Till then there
are many here for you to lean on."
Muffin looked around her seeing that the softness
of her blanket was a carpet of rich green grass.
She had been sleeping under a regal
willow tree. There was a sudden russling
of the leaves and out of the bushes behind her
stepped another orange kitty. He had
beautiful big ears.
"I am new here also Muffin, my name is Bat ears.
My mum like Muff's are near for your Mum.
As we speak they are making a beautiful
tribute to your memory and love that you and
your Mum will always share.
As they were trying to comfort Muffin, memories
were going through her thoughts. " Who was
going to help with the dish washer. I did it best since
I could crawl into it and reach parts others missed?
The yellow daisies reminded Muffin of the corn
on the cob she had shared with her Mum.
Bat ears cuddled up beside Muffin and whispered
as if he could read her very thoughts "You will
always be her Furry Daughter. Nothing
will ever change that. One day before you know
it you will hear her call you that again.
It snows here also all you have to do is wish it.
Then you can pounce on the shadows of the
snow flakes."
"Ahhhh, I see you have come to greet and comfort
Muffin" said a deep kind voice. Muffin turned to see
a silver wolf and a blue eyed husky by his side.
Muffin started to back away from the huge wolf,
but taking a second look into his eyes she saw
how gentle they were.
"My name is Pooky and this is my sister Shishi."
Pooky leaned down and helped Muffin too her feet.
He gently nuzzled her to help comfort her.
"Come with us Muffin we will show you had to
look within the blue waters that run beneath the
bridge to be able to watch over your Mum.
She has a new tattoo of your paw print on her
leg as a tribute to you. We will also
teach you to send her love in the rays
of the sun and hugs in the colours of the
rainbow.
Together they walked off to the reflecting pool
to send love to the Mum of Muffin. As Muffin followed
she whispered Together forever Mum, one day.

Light a candle in Muffin's memory, for a sick, abused, or special needs furbaby,
or perhaps just someone who needs a prayer and a candle lit.
