You came into our lives when you were just a few months old as a puppy. We opened our
hearts to you and let you in. You instantly bonded with Daisy and Wilbur and
took the position of Alpha Male in the house. Over the years you loved and
protected your pack. You had a special relationship with both Wilbur
and Daisy...but you and Daisy had quite an amazing love.
Remember the trip when we took you on to Starved Rock?!
We let you run in the deep snow on the hills and you loved it so much.We
spent the weekend loving you and snuck you into our hotel. The funniest time was
on the trail at the beach by lake shore drive when you stole the steak off
that guys grill. He turned around and yelled at us as you walked by with it
in your mouth. It was so funny and adorable. You loved steak! Your beauty
was astounding. Your sheer size alone was amazing. You were just a big
teddy bear who loved to cuddle. You loved your kong and You carried it everywhere
for years until there was hardly anything left. We tried to replace it and you
never accepted the second one! You loved the kitties. You instantly bonded with
Marley and became best friends. You loved to chase butch.
Both the kitties miss you so much. When we lost
Daisy and wilbur your heart was broken for a long time.
Although you accepted Henry instantly,
and you let him play with you and roust you as much as he wanted..you were
such a loving big brother.
Each place we moved we wanted the best for you. Whether it was a back yard
or a park...we kept you in mind. Your time
with us means more to us then anything we could imagine. We noticed you
start to have problems in 2009 with your hips. We put you
on holistic medication to help you feel better and we knew it worked for you
for a long time. After a couple years when we noticed you were in more pain we decided to
put you on regular medication to help you feel better. We moved from
a second floor apartment to a first floor unit so you would have an easier time without stairs.
We did everything for you that we could to make it better. One day we left for a while
and came back and saw you on the floor struggling to get up. You totally lost
the use of your back legs. We were heartbroken as we knew what we needed
to do for you to make you feel better. The next day we made the hardest call to the
vet asking her to come to the house to relieve you of your pain. Our hearts
were heavy but we knew we needed to let you go. You kissed us both on our hands as you fell
asleep. We knew you were telling us you were going to be ok. After you fell asleep,
that same day we saw a huge ray of sunshine in the rainy weather
and we both knew you found your way to Daisy and Wilbur at that moment. We love
you dearly and wouldn't change one thing about having you in our family.
We had 13.5 amazing years with you Max. We hope you loved being in our
family as much as we loved sharing it with you. We miss your sweet kisses
and warm cuddles everyday. There is not a moment that goes by that we don't think of your
amazing sweetness. Sleep peacefully with your Daisy and Wilbur and we will be
with you in time. We took the pain so you didn't have to. We love you Max forever and always.
Not a day goes by that we don't think about You, Daisy and Wilbur. Sleep peacefully sweet Mushy.
Love: Mommy, Daddy, Marley, Butch and Henry.
We took the pain so you didn't have to sweet Max.
It was the hardest thing in the world to let you go Max,
but in the end we loved you too much to force you to stay.
Light a candle in Max's memory, for a sick, abused, or special needs furbaby,
or perhaps just someone who needs a prayer and a candle lit.
