Goodbye Kellys Song

We fell in love with you the first day we saw you. Your purr was as loud then as it was the day we brought you home. You were such a cuddle bug. When you wanted more petting your little paw would pat me on the arm and you looked at me with a big smile and bright blue eyes. You knew when we had to say good bye, you purred right up to the end. We told you how much we love you and how we were going to miss you. We said good bye and you took our love and hearts with you.

Kat thought she was dreaming when she opened her eyes and found
herself looking into eyes as blue as her own. Those beautiful
blue eyes belonged to a gentle angel named ShiShi.
Kat wondered why she wasn't afraid of this dog.
She knew when she looked closer into ShiShi's
eyes and saw saw her caring heart.

"Where am I, how did I get here?
I had been cuddling in my Mommy's
lap. She always knew I wanted to be
cuddled when I patted her arm and
smiled at her. She gave me more
love then I had ever known in my whole
life."

ShiShi knew what Kat meant, love
could be given in a heart beat and last
forever. She had given her heart to
her Mommy and Daddy that way.
To this day she carried her Mommy's
hug and her Daddy's words of love
in the heart shapped locket she wore
around her neck.

Kat told ShiShi she had been with other
families before. The first one had not been
good too her. They had not given her love
or the food she needed. Kat thought
about it for bit and decided leaving her
behind was the kindest thing they could of done
for her. It had started her journey to her Mum.

"After my first family left another one took me
in and tried to give me a home. But his kitties
didn't want to share him with me. So I went to
another one. He meant well. I know he cared,
but he always made strange noises when he
held me." He wanted me to have a good home,
so he let me go to my forever home."

Kat remembered the first time she felt
her mommy's arms holding her. In the
first cuddle she had ever felt. She
had been determined to get as many of those
as she could. "I couldn't stop purrring
I was so happy. The more I was cuddled
the louder I purrred.

ShiShi could hear the joy and love in Kat's voice as she
spoke about her family. She wished all could find the
love Kat had found. ShiShi knew Kat carried that
love with her to the Bridge just like she had.

ShiShi gently rubbed her face against Kat's.
Follow me Kat I want you to meet my brother.
There are many others that wish to welcome
you also. Together we will show you how
to watch over your family. Please know
you are forever in their hearts as they are in
your's.

Ebbing tides of sorrow break,
Over those who will seek but ease.
The hearts and souls and minds that ache,
Waiting for the wind called peace.

The love that came from up above,
Was sent with them to us to teach.
Mission complete, took back his loves,
Now we wait for the wind of peace.

They brought His word to us to learn,
Now they fly on wings of iridescent hue,
A silverwolf was sent to me,
Who now flies with wings of blue.

So learn you well the word of love,
Even tho when gone you feel no ease.
When he takes them back above,
And leaves you searching
for the wind called peace.

When the darkness closes in and wraps you in its cold grasp
And hope seems a distant thing saved for a privileged few,
When it feels that even one more step is just too much to ask
Keep in your heart there is one more thing that you must do.

Close your eyes reach with your heart, then - hold up your hand
Allow the hands that care for you to help to hold you steady
There is no storm that together we cannot face and there stand
No foe we cannot conquer, naught for which we are not ready.

And if, needs be, we find our prayers are not answered as we hope,
And our tears flow together for what we had thought was to be,
Then let our love wrap around you like a warm, protective cloak,
And know that love survives all, for all of eternity.
