WHISPERS ON THE WIND

I said good bye to you today.
I sit with my cowboy hat shielding
my eyes as silver tears flow
down my cheeks. A gentle hand
brushes my cheek.

My brother I am always near,
I haven't left you. Remember
for me all the times you made me
smile. The times we spent
growing up together.

I was so happy to see you
when you came home on leave
that all I could see was my brother.
I am so proud of you for your caring
heart.

You have helped so many know
they are not alone. Many feel
the sunshine again because of you.
Always remember you are loved.

I feel a kiss upon my cheek
a whisper in my ear
Until we meet again my brother.

I look around at those near me.
I am surrounded by my family.
I see my little sister in each one of
them.

She has touched each one in her own
special way leaving part of herself in our hearts.
I look up into the heavens above
as one lone tear falls.
Until we meet again
Lil Sister Phil.

Remember for me the day I was
born and you cradled me close.
Your little girl. The sound of
your heart beat told me I was
home.

My first smile was for you,
telling you how safe I felt in your
arms. My Momma. Eyes glowing
with love and pride for your new
little one.

You gave me so much, a brother
who always knew how to make me smile.
A sister who has always been my
best friend.

You watched me grow from a child
to a woman. Always there to guide
my foot steps. To be who I was meant
to be. So many lessons taught
with your loving wisdom.

Life filled with the joy of a loving
Mother. I took that love with me.
I am always your girl. That will
never change.

Even though I have gone ahead my
heart is always with you. I am
in every memory. I will
never be far.

Until that day of reunion
Remember for me the love
that will always be.
Your Girl.

HEAR THE RUMBLE OF THE THUNDER, SEE THE LIGHTNING IN THE SKY,
THE GENTLE RAINS THAT SPEAK OF THINGS, UN-MENTIONED.
THE FLAMES OF THE FIRE, THAT I DO TEND,
AS I SIT HERE AND LISTEN TO, WHISPERS ON THE WIND.

I OFTEN THINK ABOUT YOU, AND THINGS THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN.
I SEEM TO HEAR YOU CALLING ME, THROUGH WHISPERS ON THE WIND.
I WATCH THE BLUE RIVER, DISAPPEAR AROUND THE BEND.
THE WATER SEEMS TO SING TO ME, BUT IT'S THE WHISPERING OF THE WIND.

IN THE SKY, ABOVE THE CLOUDS, THE MOON DOES BRIGHTLY GLOW.
IT SENDS A THOUGHT ON RAYS OF GOLD, TO GENTLY TOUCH MY SOUL.
AS THE MESSAGE REACHES OUT TO ME, I FEEL THE BREEZE AGAIN.
THE SECRET THOUGHT I SEEM TO HEAR, MUST BE THE WHISPERING OF THE WIND.

STANDING HERE ALL ALONE, BY THE RIVER AT THE BEND,
I LONG TO HEAR JUST ONE MORE TIME, THOSE WHISPERS ON THE WIND.
IF ONLY JUST, ONE MORE TIME, WHISPERS ON THE WIND.

Light a candle in Phillis's memory, for a sick, abused, or special needs furbaby, or perhaps just someone who needs a prayer and a candle lit.
