We will wait for you, until the
time comes when we will be
together again. We will meet
you at the rainbow's end
where the sky touches
the earth.
Until then we watch over you.
We feel the love you have for
us in each tear you shed.
We hear your voice speaking
to us from your heart.
When you question if we will
be reunited, know it shall be.
We are meant to be as one
forever.
Until the colours of the rainbow
beckon for you to follow. We take
each step by your side. Even
though you can't see us, We are
there.
Let healing touch your heart
let the silver tears wash the
pain away. For We are just
around the corner where your
heart dwells.
Remember reunion will be
at the Rainbow's end.

I have seen the morning sun rise upon my window panes.
I have seen the glory of the sun as sets at end of day.
I have seen rebirth in the beginnings of each new day.
I have heard the sounds cast in my mind of words unsaid.
On a clear day, I can see forever in the skies above me.
I have seen the love as soft eyes gazed gently into mine,
I have known love on four legs, more so than ever I have two.
I have had the pleasure of time that stands still in my mind.
I have shared the silver of the teardrops as they fell,
I have heard the words of others in much pain.
There have been things I know left unsaid as time heals,
But I have sensed those teardrops fall like rain.
It is known the pain of words written for this heart that hurts,
And words fill the gap that time has not yet felt the need to erase,
You too have words that you too have yet to speak or write,
About the great hurt of the tears that you wet upon your face.
So let we who care share your pain with you my friends,
Let not ever the glory of the rainbows shine be for naught.
One day more shall we rise to smell the beauty of the rose.
And once more in the web of great love shall we be caught.
Yes you have known the glory of the sunrise as it burst upon the land,
And seen it slowly drift across the meadow gently kissed with dew.
You have felt its warming rays spread and warm your very soul,
And you have known the love of four legs, just as you have two.
You know this life as it stands is not without its grief,
So Live on this life that you know you must fulfill,
Until that day that you are called upon to go,
And you will see the sunlight shine again upon your sill.

We reached a fork on a quiet woodland path
One quiet afternoon on a beautiful rainbow filled day
I was unaware as we began our peaceful walk
We were on separate paths and each go a different way
Had I known this was to be our last walk together
As we shared a blissful morning and a cozy afternoon
Would I have planned for the day another way
Knowing that our journey together would end this soon?
But perhaps this is how it really needs to be
By not knowing it was a good day, free of pain
So I hold to the memories of our time together
And remember you until our paths will cross again.
And had I but known how the day would go
I could have prepared for what came my way,
But it would have clouded the time with sadness
And taken away from us one last perfect day.

It takes us back to brighter years,
to happier sunlit days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.
And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.
There is a bridge of memories
from earth to Heaven above...
It keeps our dear ones near us
It's the bridge that we call love.

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Light a candle in Sailor's memory, for a sick, abused, or special needs furbaby,
or perhaps just someone who needs a prayer and a candle lit.
